Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park is Botswana’s first national park and one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Located in the north-eastern part of Botswana, the park covers approximately 11,700 square kilometres and is renowned for its incredible biodiversity, stunning landscapes, and one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa.

The park is divided into four distinct ecosystems: the Chobe Riverfront, Savuti, Linyanti, and Nogatsaa regions, each offering unique wildlife viewing experiences. The Chobe Riverfront is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and an abundance of birdlife that gather along the river’s banks. Visitors can enjoy exceptional game viewing through both land-based game drives and scenic boat cruises on the Chobe River.

Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, various antelope species, and hundreds of bird species throughout the year. The dry season, from May to October, is especially rewarding as animals congregate around permanent water sources, creating spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities.

Chobe National Park is also conveniently located near Kasane and serves as a gateway to other iconic attractions in the region, including Victoria Falls, making it an ideal destination for travellers seeking an unforgettable African safari experience.
